Raju Weds Rambai will debut in theatres with Thursday evening premieres all over. Set for a full-fledged release on November 21st, the film features Akhil Raj and Tejaswini Rao in lead roles. "We are fixing the ticket price at just ₹99 across AP and Telangana," said producer Vamsi Nandipati. "We set single-screen ticket rates at ₹99 and multiplex rates at ₹105. Please come to the theatres and watch Raju Weds Rambai. Every audience member counts," said ETV Win's Sai Krishna, who is backing the "heart-touching love story".
ETV Win Content Head Nitin Chakravarthy said, "If the last 30 minutes don’t move you emotionally, no film ever will. We guarantee the strength of this film’s content.” The film is based on a true incident that was buried for 15 years. Actress Tejaswini called the film not only moving but also hard-hitting.
The film offers a grounded perspective, focusing not on lavish spectacles like helicopter or metro shots, but on the authentic lives of auto drivers and college students. "We respect all opinions; however, we urge audiences to refrain from spreading unwarranted negativity. Should negative word-of-mouth persist after the release, I will publicly take on the challenge of walking semi-nude at Ameerpet Junction. This passion project, a love story 15 years in the making, was brought to life through the tireless dedication of our entire team. We believe the film will resonate deeply, invoking memories of your village, friendships, and personal love stories," director Saailu Kampati said.
Interestingly, Akhil Raj dismissed the version circulating about the film's climax. "That's not true. It's something else," he added. He asked the audience to boycott his future movies if they don't like Raju Weds Rambai.
Director Tharun Bhascker of Pelli Choopulu fame vouched for the film's ability to move the audience. He appreciated director-producer Venu Udugula for supporting aspiring directors. The Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi director further praised the Telugu audience for accepting multiple genres. Actor Shivaji Raja said that the film has been receiving the support of Telugu cinema heroes, because of which it has become popular with the audience even before its release. Director Sai Marthand of Little Hearts fame was there to wish the team all the best. Some of the individuals who were behind his movie are also behind Raju Weds Rambai.
Producer Rahul Mopidevi spoke of his association with ETV Win and the neat performances in the film. "You will see innocence in the actions of the lovers. While watching the movie, you will feel the effort put in by every department. Director Saailu worked very hard to bring naturality into the film," he added.
Producer Venu Udugula made the sensational prediction that Akhil and Tejaswini will become another Vijay Deverakonda and Sai Pallavi. Although the film is set in a particular Telangana village within a specific social setting, it is universal in the themes it deals with. In Chaitanya Jonnalagadda's character, one sees the average, possessive father who dotes on his daughter and becomes nervous when she falls in love against his consent. He thanked ETV Win for supporting Raju Weds Rambai without asking for an altered climax. Saailu's narration, he said, is full of honesty, innocence and purity.
Music director Suresh Bobbili said that ‘Rambai Neemeedha Naku’ (the song) became a huge hit because of Mittapalli Surender’s lyrics. He further described the movie as heart-touching and realistic.
Actor Sivaji said that Raju Weds Rambai is so slice-of-life and touching that it would be a blockbuster hit that runs in theatres for 365 days had it been a Malayalam movie. "Telugu audiences are now embracing such films. They know what truly makes a good film. Any movie made with honesty never disappoints," the actor, seen in the recent hit Court, said.
Actor Chaitu Jonnalagadda, as the heroine's father, will be "frightening". His menacing nature will be scarier than that of the fathers/elders in films like Uppena and Court (Sivaji's Mangapathi). He further predicted that Raju Weds Rambai will alter the careers of everyone involved for good.
Finally, actor and chief guest for the event, Kiran Abbavaram, said that Akhil and Tejaswini look like a "real couple". He appreciated ETV Win and Vamsi Nandipati for backing new talents. "When I was doing short-films, I wished for backers like them," the KA and K-Ramp actor said. "I have heard of many tragic love stories, but when I heard this climax, I was stunned," he said.
