Ticket prices: Bunny Vas argues justification for piracy doesn't exist

Producer-Distributor Bunny Vas has taken a strong exception to the popular argument that film piracy is justified because of high ticket rates. Inherently, piracy is wrong and even small films that don't overcharge are affected by it.

"In a year, out of 100 films that get released, ticket prices are increased only about 20% of them. The rest don't sell tickets at higher prices. However, even those movies are put out on piracy sites," Bunny Vas today said, differing with the social media narrative that unaffordability pushes the audience to encourage piracy sites. He also stressed upon the pressure and struggles undergone on stakeholders like producers and distributors, who invest huge monies.

Bunny Vas recently became a producer by floating Bunny Vasu Works. This week's release, Raju Weds Rambai, is distributed by him. The film is going strong, with 100 new screens getting added to its screen-count in the Telugu States today (Saturday). "This is the ultimate love of the audience for our Raw Cult Blockbuster #RajuWedsRambai," he wrote.
