Natural Star Nani has blamed the phenomenon of Nepotism on the audience. Appearing on the SonyLIV talk show Nijam With Smitha, the 'Ante Sundaraniki' actor opined that it's wrong for the public to describe Nepotism as external to them.
"It's always perceived that Nepotism is something that the film industry thrusts on the audience members. When Nani did his first movie, it was watched by one lakh people. When Ram Charan debuted in films, his maiden venture was watched by one crore people. Who is encouraging Nepotism? It's the audience, obviously," the 'Shyam Singha Roy' actor said as his fellow guest Rana Daggubati gave him a thumbs-up.
Rana suggested that Nepotism is grossly misunderstood. "My grandfather set up a 360-degree ecosystem by establishing a film studio in Hyderabad. If, as his grandson, I don't take the baton forward and if I let Ramanaidu Studio fail, it would be a blunder. Some studios like Vijaya Vauhini and some big names in Bombay have become defunct because their family members couldn't sustain them," Rana said.
