Actor-producer Kamal Haasan is laughing his way to the bank. 'Vikram' has grossed Rs 300 Cr worldwide and is on its way to pipping the 'Baahubali: The Conclusion' record in Tamil Nadu. If it does that, 'Vikram' will become the biggest hit in Tamil Nadu.
Meanwhile, the legendary actor has suggested that he is using the humongous returns made from the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial to clear off his loans. In 2021, ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Kamal declared that he had loans to the tune of Rs 49.5 Cr. About Rs 33.16 Cr pertained to housing loan, mortgage loan, insurance loans and other loans. And Rs 15.33 Cr was owed to other individuals and entities. These details were divulged by Kamal himself in his nomination papers submitted to the Election Commission.
Going by the box office numbers, 'Vikram' has given him enough returns to repay all debts.
Kamal Haasan's fans are quite happy for their favourite actor. The 'Indian 2' actor has been mired in debts for decades. Nothing used to work for him till 'Vikram'. Films like 'Vishwaroopam 2' and 'Utthama Villain' were stuck. 'Vikram' has changed everything for good! It's a film of a lifetime, really!
