A grand Free Mega Diabetes Treatment Camp will be held on January 20, 2026, to honor the 86th birth anniversary of the legendary actor and former Union Minister, Sri Uppalapati Venkata Krishnam Raju. This initiative is led by his wife, Smt. Syamala Devi Uppalapati. She aims to continue her husband’s legacy of compassion and public service. Syamala Devi noted that the camp reflects Krishnam Raju’s belief that serving people is a high responsibility. The event aims to provide dignity and specialized care to those in need.
The camp is organized by the UK–India Diabetic Foot Foundation. Renowned surgeon Dr. Venu Kavarthapu from King’s College Hospital, London, will lead the team. He will be joined by 32 expert doctors from around the world and across India. The camp will run from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM at Sri Rasthu Function Hall in Dendukuru, Madhira. Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Sri Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka will attend the event to show his support for improved diabetic foot care access.
This year's location in the Khammam district follows highly successful previous camps in Mogalthur and Bhimavaram. Organizers are specifically inviting patients with foot-related issues like sores, cracks, or loss of sensation. All diabetes diagnostic tests and necessary medicines will be provided to patients at no cost. Attendees should bring their previous blood reports and X-rays for registration.
