Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh on Thursday called for the arrest of SS Rajamouli over his recent remarks about Lord Hanuman not helping him with the smooth conduct of the Globe Trotter event. "Rajamouli must be jailed. He makes movies infusing the element of Hindu Gods but doesn't have respect for the same Gods. Why should Hindus watch his movies? By patronizing his movies, we enrich him with hundreds of crores and he comes back to make objectionable utterances," Raja Singh said, asking Hindus to boycott Mahesh Babu's Varanasi. He described the Baahubali and RRR maker as a "faltoo director".
On the other hand, BJP leader and Union Minister Bandi Sanjay said that he hopes Hanuman blesses Rajamouli and turns him into a theist some day.
Small-time BJP functionaries have issued statements against Rajamouli. A less-known Hindu outfit has lodged a police complaint.
