There was a time when director Mohit Suri wanted to give up on the idea of making Saiyaara because he didn’t come across debutants with acting calibre. Things changed when Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda were spotted. Saiyaara, whose Trailer is out, will head to theatres on July 18.

The YRF CEO, Akshaye Widhani, who is producing Saiyaara, stated that at YRF, they have a legacy of making love stories that have connected and stayed in people's hearts for a long, long time. He added that this collaboration with Mohit Suri, who loves this genre as much as they do, was always meant to happen. The CEO further explained that they were looking to tell a real love story that connects to today's youth by showing how deep and true their feelings, emotions, and commitments are, and he expressed their thrill at having found Saiyaara.

Mohit credits the compelling performances of the lead pair as essential to his decision to make Saiyaara. He originally considered a different project but pivoted when Yash Raj Films sought a young love story and was developing Ahaan and Aneet for such a film. The filmmaker added that for a love story with newcomers to be believable, the actors needed to convincingly convey emotional depth. He spent time with the newcomers and was "blown away" by their acting, intellectual, and emotional depth.

Releasing the trailer, the makers wrote, "Flawed, imperfect people make for perfect love stories... experience a love story so pure that it heals your heart…"

The trailer of Saiyaara opens with the male lead bashing a creative producer-like character. His musical dreams lead to a companionship with the female lead, who has her own rules. The arc of the love story seems to be intense and eventful, leading to a host of deep conversations. Little wonder that the makers have described their movie as an intense love story that has not been made in a long, long time with debutants.
