'Devaki Nandana Vasudeva', starring Mahesh Babu's nephew Ashok Galla in the lead, will head to theaters on November 14. The film will most likely be pulverized by Suriya's 'Kanguva' at the box office.
'Devaki Nandana Vasudeva' will also face a threat from Varun Tej's 'Matka', which too is going to be released on November 14. 'Kanguva' will overshadow 'DNV' no matter what. Such is the scale of Suriya's film! If 'Matka' enjoys positive audience reception, 'DNV' will be washed out.
Ashok Galla's first movie, 'Hero' (2022), was a flop despite solid content. It was an action entertainer worth a watch. But since it was released for Sankranthi, it couldn't steal a march over Nagarjuna's 'Bangarraju'. Also, the audience were not in a mood to give it a chance due to a looming new coronavirus wave.
'Devaki Nandana Vasudeva' is audacious. At a time when there has been an overdose of religious iconography in our films, small heroes have to be extra careful. Teja Sajja is a small actor but 'HanuMan' is a superhero movie. So, the genre justifies the gravity-defying, illogical action. On the other hand, 'Devaki Nandana Vasudeva' seems to be a regular action entertainer.
