In a statement, the OTT platform has stated that the Telugu-dubbed version is doing better than its Tamil original. After 'Bangarraju', this Vishal-starrer is one more hit on ZEE5.
Also streaming on ZEE5, of late, is the Sankranthi release 'Rowdy Boys'. As against 'Saamanyudu', which is a thriller, 'Rowdy Boys' is a college campus rom-com.
What is 'Saamanyudu' about?
Porus (Vishal) is an idealistic youngster who wants to become a cop. His father is a constable and his sister Dwaraka (Raveena Ravi), a college student, is facing harassment from a street bully, who is related to a goonda. Porus and his family decide to take on the harasser but the same backfires. In a parallel track, a college student has been blackmailed by a spoilt brat (played by Raja Chembolu). In another track, an activist takes on the business mafia. How these three tracks come together and what Porus does to avenge personal tragedy is what the rest of the story is about.
