'Enemy', starring Vishal and Arya, will head to the theatres on November 4 in Telugu and Tamil. Its pre-release event was held at a star hotel in Hyderabad on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, director Anand Shankar said that the film is a commercial outing. "Vishal and Arya have got a good image in Telugu. The audience receives their movies well. Our movie got delayed because of the pandemic. I thank producer Vinod for standing by the team," he said, commending Mamata Mohandas, among others. He added that RD Rajasekhar's visuals are going to stand out. The filmmaker made a mention of 'RRR' in talking about the growing incidence of multi-starrers down South.
The producer described the pandemic as an enemy of the film and expressed confidence that the film will definitely tide over all difficulties.
Actress Mamatha Mohandas said, "It was with Rajamouli's 'Yama Donga' that I entered the Telugu film industry. We are confident about 'Enemy'. It's my first movie with Vishal in a long time. And it's my first collaboration with Arya."
Arya said, "Vishal is like my brother. The story has got strong emotions and story. What happens when two good friends become enemies? That's quite an interesting premise. Prakash Raj, Mrinalini and Mamatha have done a great job. Made on a high budget, the visuals are Hollywoodian."
Vishal lauded the director and the entire technical team. In his emotional speech, he paid a tribute to Puneeth Rajkumar, his friend. The actor also said that he would be taking care of the educational expenses of 1,800 children that Puneeth had adopted, for a year.
