VD14 is now RANABAALI; Release date made official

VD14 is titled RANABAALI, a period drama set in the British-India era. The film will head to theatres on September 11th.

Sharing its title announcement glimpse, director Rahul Sankrityan has thrown enough hints about the nature of Vijay Deverakonda's character. The ferocious protagonist is a daredevil fighter who crusades for the emancipation of the starved masses. The British, by an estimate, are believed to have amassed as much as 46 trillion dollars from India and drained it out of the country. The wealth drain resulted in famines and man-made deaths, which as per the glimpse stood at 100 million in 40 years. "The Legend of the Cursed Land - 1898", screams the caption.

"The British called him a “SAVAGE". I do not Disagree. He was “OUR” Savage! Introducing THE one and Only RANABAALI. And setting the record straight on our history which they tried to Bury," wrote Vijay on X. "The man who became a LEGEND for his people. The legend who became a NIGHTMARE for the evil," the makers wrote.

Arnold Vosloo is playing Sir Theodre Hector, while Rashmika Mandanna is Jayamma. The Ajay-Atul duo of Adipurush fame are composing the music.

Nirav Shah is the Director of Photography, with Pramod Tammineni is handling the screenplay and dialogue as the main writer. The visual world is constructed by Production Designer Shivam Rao Nagasani and Art Director Vithal Kosanam, while Archana Rao oversees the costumes department. The rhythm is steered by Choreography Director Kruti Mahesh, while the high-octane sequences are orchestrated by Action Choreographers Yannick Ben, Andy Long Nguyen, and Rabin Subbu. The film is edited by Karthika Srinivas R.
