Agent, released in 2023, was a disaster. Between its producer Anil Sunkara and its multiple distributors, they lost more than Rs 15 Cr. Its OTT release, to make matters worse, got delayed by more than a year.
Akhil Akkineni is looking forward to making good the losses suffered by Sunkara and the distributors. Some day, probably a year or two from now, he will team up with AK Entertainments once again. This time, he wants to do a small-scale movie that doesn't involve huge investments. Akhil's sole aim is to help those who suffered due to Agent's failing to recoup their losses. While Sunkara's financial stamina is too solid to be affected in a crippling way by Agent, some distributors are said to have incurred ruinous losses.
Akhil awaits the theatrical release of Lenin on May 1. Directed by Murali Kishor Abbura, the film is being produced jointly by Akkineni Nagarjuna and S Naga Vamsi. As for Anil Sunkara, his Nari Nari Naduma Murari will be released in theatres on January 14.
