'Jana Nayakudu' Trailer: Thalapathy Vijay is COMING!

Jana Nayakudu has been designed with adulation. Director H Vinoth is aware of the gargantuan superstardom of Thalapathy Vijay, who is nothing less than a demigod to Tamils (the film is titled Jana Nayagan in the original).

The trailer begins in a familiar tone, complete with a Lokesh Kanagaraj-style hype for the hero. "He is a top-notch pro who beats his own record," a baddie declares, setting up for an indefatigable hero who can't be touched without risking total annihilation.

In an obvious nod to the women empowerment theme, Mamitha Baiju is introduced as Vijji, a future tigress who must dedicate herself to the nation's service by joining the Army. Bobby Deol plays the frightening, ruthless antagonist who clashes with the unforgiving hero head-on. As he declares "Let's play a game", it's time for a colossal showdown. He is your terrorizing textbook villain who is on the cusp of screwing India.

The second half of the trailer is where the film's politics becomes evident. Since Vijay is a CM candidate in real life, the plot acquires meta elements. People are with him and any foolhardly attempt to harm him will make him a martyr. When Vijay says he won't be retreating or bowing down, it's a warning to the entrenched political establishment.

Pooja Hegde, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, and Narain are playing different roles. Produced by Venkat K Narayana on KVN Productions, Jana Nayakudu's music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The film is confirmed to hit the cinemas worldwide on January 9.
