Producer TG Vishwa Prasad of People Media Factory has rumouredly junked five movies recently after the completion of their production. No production house in Telugu cinema has made such a high-stakes decision in recent years. Almost all five of them featured small artists and none of them would have managed to land even semi-attractive OTT deals.
In addition, five other projects that were almost primed to go to the floors were scrapped by the banner.
As per industry observers like Daily Culture, the banner behind big-scale productions like The Raja Saab has hit the reset button after a slew of flops like Mr. Bachchan, Viswam, Mowgli and Telusu Kada in the last two years. Even though the producer has defended flops like Manamey, Eagle and SWAG, it's but clear that those flops haven't raised his banner's stature. The failure of Prabhas' Sankranthi release may have further made People Media Factory aggressively do a rethink.
