James Cameron defends spending 30 years on Avatar; Know what he said

Since the release of Titanic in 1997, James Cameron has directed only three major narrative feature films (the Avatar franchise). The rest four that he directed are documentary features. While he has produced or written many others (like Alita: Battle Angel or Terminator: Dark Fate), he only officially served as the director for the Avatar films.

Does he think that it was an "unfortunate waste of talent" for him to spend over 30 years on Avatar films. The iconic Hollywood director has opened up about the same. “I am feeling fulfilled as an artist, and when those critical fans become filmmakers, they can make those types of decisions for themselves — or just stay the fu*k out of it. It’s my decision, not yours. It’s like saying, ‘Gee, I wish she wasn’t married to the same guy for so long.’ It’s none of your business," he said.

Fans are loving the defense. "World-building is probably one of the hardest things to do as an artist. You are forever an inspiration and an icon," a fan wrote.

In a recent chit-chat with SS Rajamouli, James Cameron evinced interest in being present on the sets of Varanasi for a brief while. The conversation has gone viral.

Avatar: Fire and Ash will hit the cinemas worldwide on December 19.
