Ahead of the theatrical release of 'Kanguva' on November 14, actor Suriya was in Hyderabad to promote the pan-Indian visual spectacle. The actor turned emotional about having an event film release, that too, after two direct OTT releases in the post-pandemic era.

The film's story is partly set in a bygone era. The story goes back in one thousand years. Five tribes and the violent conflicts between them forms the crux of the period action segment.

Speaking on the occasion, the film's Nizam distributor Sashi said that he was glad to release 'Kanguva' in the territory. He exuded confidence that early morning shows would be held on November 14 to cater to the demand for the movie.

Rakendu Mouli has penned the film's dialogues and songs for the Telugu version. He endorsed the movie's appeal, having watched some select scenes from the Siva directorial. The talented writer cherishes the experience of working with Siva and Suriya.

Director Siva invoked SS Rajamouli and his contribution in elevating southern Indian cinema's stature. Having remade 'Vikramarkudu' in Tamil as 'Siruthai', Siva owes a lot to the 'RRR' maker. "I am indebted to him. He taught me how to integrate VFX and emotional drama effectively," the filmmaker from Kollywood said.

Producer KE Gnanavel Raja of STudio Green spoke of the entire team's passion.

Actor Suriya's speech was laced with anecdotes and personal touches. He spoke of the impact left by 'Jai Bhim' and 'Kaakha Kaakha', his acclaimed films. Suriya's speech turned intimate when he referred to his fans and admirers as "warriors" who must fight it out in their lives.

The speakers positioned 'Kanguva' as a righteous protagonist's war for what he believes is right. So, although there are warring tribes and internecine conflicts, the core emotion is rooted in Dharma.

The film was in the making for 2.5 years. With music by Devi Sri Prasad, 'Kanguva' also features Bobby Deol and Disha Patani.
