Actress Komalee Prasad of Rowdy Boys, HIT 2, HIT 3 and Napoleon fame is now debuting in Tamil. After acting in web series like Loser, Modern Love Hyderabad, and Touch Me Not and the recent rom-com Sasivadane, she is now headlining Mandavetti, a supernatural crime thriller.
The film, currently on the floors, is being produced by Tuskers Den Pictures. Helmer Saranraj Senthilkumar is molding it as a commentary on themes of loss, identity, and survival.
Talking about Mandavetti, the makers today said that it is going to be "mood-driven and unconventional". The inner life of the female protagonist is essential to the narrative, considering that it is a female-led movie. Thenappan, Gajaraj, and Amritha will be seen in supporting roles.
"The new year march begins. We are proud to announce that Tuskers Den Pictures has officially moved into pre-production for our maiden venture. Wishing you all a powerful 2026," the makers added. "Here is me seeking your love and blessings for my female driven tamil debut. Can't tell much now but I promise it's going to be the most proudest film for all of us," Komalee wrote on Instagram.
Mandavetti is expected to be edgy and contemporary, thrilling and genre-specific. Deepak Venugopal is its music director.
For Komalee Prasad, Mandavetti is going to be a breakthrough in Tamil. She studied dentistry at the Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences (Loni, Ahmednagar) before pursuing her film career. In mid-2025, she publicly addressed rumors that she was quitting acting to return to her medical profession, clarifying that while she is a doctor, acting is her "way of life" and she intends to continue her film journey indefinitely.
