Makers of The Raja Saab, Chiranjeevi's MSG approach High Court

The producers of The Raja Saab and Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu have reportedly approached the Telangana High Court to request an increase in movie ticket prices. People Media Factory and Shine Screens, respectively, have produced the Sankranthi biggies.

Citing the massive financial investment and high production costs involved in bringing these large-scale projects to life, the makers argued that current price caps hinder their ability to recover costs. Producers TG Vishwa Prasad and Sahu Garapati have not made any concrete statements yet about their move.

It is believed that their petition specifically challenges earlier restrictions on price hikes, seeking judicial intervention to allow flexible pricing for the upcoming releases. The court is expected to hear the matter this Wednesday.

Why have the producers approached the High Court? Did the Telangana government decline their request? Probably, yes. Recently, Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkatreddy categorically stated that no requests for ticket price hikes would be entertained going forward. This came after Akhanda 2. The makers of the movies of Prabhas and Chiranjeevi will have to put a strong case. Otherwise, regular ticket prices will affect the openings of The Raja Saab and MSG.
