Speaking at the Abhayam Masoom Summit 2025 event on Saturday, Supreme Hero Sai Dharam Tej (his new screen name is Sai Durgha Tej) said that social media shouldn't be allowed to be hijacked by spiteful individuals who make ugly remarks, outraging the modesty of children by hiding behind anonymous accounts. He opined that all social media handles have to be mandatorily linked to Aadhar so that there is traceability. "That will instill a sense of fear and responsibility in offenders," the Virupaksha actor said.
The Republic star touched upon the shocking Praneeth Hanumanthu issue. In 2024, Hanumanthu was arrested for making sexually coloured comments about a four-year-old girl. The issue was highlighted by Sai Tej, who tagged Revanth Reddy, Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan, seeking their intervention. "Those comments were really outrageous. Shockingly, one of his grotesque posts was liked by 137 users. One shudders to think about the number of individuals who have obscene thoughts in our society," Sai Tej added.
He drove home the importance of a healthy parent-child bond in today's times. "In the age of AI, it is important to understand the role of openness at homes. I spoke about my crush to my mom when I was in Standard II. This is the kind of environment children need. Our kids need to bond with their uncles and cousins," the Sambarala Yeti Ghatti star said.
Sai Tej said that the comments sections of his social media accounts have been flooded with obnoxious comments. The actor suggested that offensive remarks can deeply hurt women and children, leaving permanent scars on their psyches.
Sai Tej also spoke of his resolve not to act in songs that normalize eve-teasing. "Winner was the last movie in which I ever did such a thing," the Chitralahari actor said.
The Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham actor spoke of his efforts to fund a school in Araku, besides adopting some kids from the State of Telangana.
The Abhayam Masoom Summit 2025 was organized by CII's Young Indians.
