Tamil superstar Ajith has opened up about the Karur stampede that killed nearly 40 last month during a political rally by actor-politician Vijay. The Good Bad Ugly actor stated that Vijay alone is not responsible. He called out the culture of "gathering crowds" and opined that such a culture shows the entire film industry in a bad light.
"That individual (Vijay) alone is not responsible for it. We all are responsible. This obsession with gathering crowds has to end," he observed.
The Vidamuyaarchi actor then added, "Why is this happening only with film personalities? This projects the whole film industry in a poor light. We don't wish this (stampedes). We want their love. We work hard for their love, away from our families, spending sleepless nights and going through depression. The media shouldn't encourage all this First Day First Show culture," Ajith said.
