S Naga Vamsi released the movie in the Telugu States by reportedly shelling out a massive figure for theatrical release rights. "Both Tarak anna and I trusted Aditya Chopra (of Yash Raj Films). Since he is one of the biggest producers in the country, we trusted him but it misfired," Naga Vamsi said.
Days after the movie's release, the social media rumour-mongering reached a peak, with many spreading the falsehood that a bankrupt Naga Vamsi flew to Dubai. Suggesting that the rumour was funny, he added, "How would a bankrupt person afford settling down in Dubai? The trolling became intense and I didn't want to feed the trolls further. Therefore, I postponed the release of Mass Jathara."
