Kaantha is Dulquer Salmaan's upcoming release. Scheduled to grace the silver screens on November 14, the film has so much intrigue written all over it.
The Lucky Baskhar actor might be playing a grey role in this one. Set in the 1950s Madras, its promotional content so far is "dripping with that deliberate fog of intrigue".
Since the story is set in the world of cinema, "shadowy studio politics" are expected to be central to its narrative. DQ plays a film actor whose father (Samuthirakani) is a filmmaker. Bhagyashri Borse plays his shady (?) love interest. Rana Daggubati has an undisclosed role. "Kaantha is about bruised ambitions, cinema politics, domestic tensions, and strife," a source says. A cinephile stated that Kaantha could deliver a slow-burn gut-punch.
The trailer for Kaantha will be released on November 6.
