Siva Shakthi Datta, a well-known lyricist and screenwriter, passed away at the age of 93. Also a painter, he made a mark as a sought-after lyricist with a great grasp on Telugu. MM Keeravani is his son.
Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan issued a statement mourning his demise. "I am saddened to learn of the passing of Sri Datta garu, the father of renowned music director Sri Keeravani garu, and himself a writer and artist. I pray to God for the peace of his soul. He was a great admirer of arts and literature. With a strong command over Telugu and Sanskrit literature, Sri Datta garu penned lyrics for several films. I extend my deepest condolences to Sri Keeravani garu and his brothers, who are grieving the loss of their father," the Hari Hara Veera Mallu actor wrote.
