A section of the media in Mumbai has spread the lie that Mehreen Pirzada recently had a secret marriage. In an angry post on social media, the heroine described it as a piece of misinformation.
"Nowadays, it’s bizzare how misinformation can spread without any repercussions for it. And journalism has definitely taken a hit when it comes to stupid paid articles. I have stayed shut about this for 2 years but because of constant harassment I choose to speak up today. A newspaper put out an article about me getting married to some XYZ person who we don’t even know and have never even interacted with…clearly a low life who’s hacked into my Wikipedia and tried to get his 2 mins of fame. So here I am setting the record straight. I’m not married to anyone. But trust me when I do decide to, I promise you the whole world will know," she wrote.
In May this year, Mehreen Pirzada opted for egg freezing. At that time, a section of the media misreported it as her getting pregnant. She threatened legal action against the peddlers of fake news.
