Have police offered iBomma Ravi a job? Cop offers clarity

A top cop has dismissed the news that the Hyderabad police had offered a job to iBomma Ravi Immadi, who was jailed last month. The news is totally untrue, a DCP said today. Recent Telugu media reports, including one by TV9, claimed that Ravi rejected the offer by the police.

It's also reported that Ravi has offered to quit film piracy and open a restaurant if he is let go.

It has been more than a week since the accused has been under police custody. He hasn't divulged the entire information that the interrogators need. "He has absolutely no remorse for the offence he has committed. We found that he promoted three betting apps. More details still need to be elicited regarding the financial transactions," the police said.

Meanwhile, as per Telangana Today, the arrest of Ravi has brought in its wake a "fresh wave of online piracy, with individuals registering look-alike domains and circulating pirated films through social media and anonymous websites". In this context, the Cybercrime department has further intensified surveillance.
