'HanuMan' producer K Niranjan Reddy recently scored two flops. 'Darling', produced by Niranjan and his wife Chaitanya Reddy, was released in July. The relationship comedy was a colossal dud. 'Double ISmart', starring Ram Pothineni in the lead, was acquired by Niranjan for a whopping amount. It is said that the loss incurred on the Puri Jaganandh-directed disaster is huge.
The 'HanuMan' producer, putting behind the two setbacks, has announced a pan-Indian project. Titled 'Billa Ranga Baasha', the futuristic fantasy film stars Kichcha Sudeepa in the lead. 'Vikrant Rona' fame Anup Bhandari is its director.
The project was originally announced by Anup and Sudeepa in 2018. It faced obstacles for years. It was almost about to take off in 2022. At that time, Mythri Movie Makers was said to be producing it. But nothing was heard about the project for another two years. It has finally been revived by Niranjan Reddy and his wife. This is a big gamble, considering that Sudeepa has no market in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi.
