Avantika Vandanapu, the child artist of 'Brahmotsavam', 'Premam' and 'Agnyaathavaasi' fame, lives in the US. The 18-year-old American dancer and actress has become an Internet sensation recently when a clip from the American musical teen comedy film, 'Mean Girls', went viral.

Of late, Netizens have trolled her for speaking in American slang in interviews with the US media. For many, the accent is affected and fake. Reacting to the charge, Avantika said that she was brought up in the US and she grew up speaking the American accent. "It is natural to me. When I am at home, I speak in an Indian accent with my parents," Avantika said, adding that 'code switching' is common.

Also seen in Telugu films like 'Balakrishnudu', 'Rarandoi Veduka Chudham', and 'Oxygen', Avantika hasn't done an Indian project in the last three years.
