Telugu diction in 'Kalki' is atrocious, unnatural: Netizens

'Kalki 2898 AD' has been rejected by a section of language-lovers. Many argue that the film feels like a Telugu-dubbed one rather than a native Telugu film. Most of the actors in the film speak like NRIs with an affected diction, Netizens say.

As per a Twitter user named @halleyji, the Telugu in the Prabhas-starrer is nothing less than atrocious. "Let us not kid ourselves. Telugus have absolutely no right to demand quality Telugu diction. We abandoned the language long ago. So that's okay. Pan-India film, after all. I am just happy that in 2898 AD, Telugus will still be speaking the Telugu language. Ideally, we should switch to English by then," he adds with sarcasm.

Nag Ashwin comes from a certain upper-class background. He probably went to convent schools and has always moved among the affluent all his life. You know how those guys speak in Telugu, right? Borrowed slang, yo-yo types and all. Hmm...
