Earlier this week, Asian Multiplexes Pvt Ltd and Suresh Productions announced that 'Maamannan' (Tamil) will be released in Telugu as 'Nayakudu'. Ahead of the film's theatrical release on July 14, its trailer was digitally released on Friday by Mahesh Babu.

The trailer shows Udhayanidhi Stalin and Vadivelu in the role of a son and a father, respectively. They are self-absorbed and going through an emotional churn.

Fahadh Faasil, despite being a superstar in Mollywood, plays a negative role in this emotional action drama. He plays a casteist politician with feudalist attitudes and violent tendencies.

Directed by Mari Selvaraj, the film has Keerthy Suresh in a prominent role. The political action thriller, with music by AR Rahman, appears to be a profound drama with an ideological tilt against the caste system. The trailer, at about three minutes, goes to show that the film is content-driven.

Theni Eswar cranked the camera, while Selva RK edited the movie.

'Nayakudu', with an ensemble cast, has managed to be a critically-acclaimed movie in Kollywood. Will it repeat what 'Kantara', '2018, 'Love Today' and a few other dubbed movies have achieved in recent months?
