Post Sunil's debacle as a hero, he moved on to do what he is best at and that is comedy. But sadly for Sunil things did not work out. He was seen in ‘Silly Fellows’ in a full-fledged comedian role and the film failed to click. Although NTR starrer ‘Aravinda Sametha’ was a hit, Sunil did not get much credit. He failed to impress the audience here as well.
His hopes were pinned on Ravi Teja starrer 'Amar Akbar Antony'. But news is that director Srinu Vaitla will be editing his portions from the film. This is being done to make the film crisp. Many scenes which involves Sunil in the film will be cropped. So Sunil's appearance in the film will be limited.
