Nagarjuna, who has now graduated from ‘Yuva Samrat’ to ‘King’ has now ventured on a new attempt wherein he will speak in Rayalaseema accent for the first time in his career. With two gorgeous ladies by his side, he is caught between them in a triangular love story which is presented by director Veeru Potla with a mix of comedy and action. Nag does the role of a businessman who runs a business in market yard in Kadapa. No doubt this role will generate a lot of controversy and thereby actions, which is what Veeru Potla has aimed at. Certainly the atmosphere will also generate quite a lot of comedy and who else can be a better fit than Brahmu for roles of this type.
Veeru Potla is now being seen as a very promising director with his first movie ‘Bindaas’ beating all expectations. In this movie 'Ragada', he has taken over other departments as well. Apart, from direction he also contributes with the story, screenplay and dialogues. While lyrics are handled by Ramajogayya Sastry, ‘Kick’ and ‘Brindavanam’ fame Thaman has scored music for the film. Based on the storyline it is an aim towards attracting the masses and the music is in line with the required.
Veeru Potla took the squad to places like Jordan, New Zealand and Bangkok to provide feast to the eyes particularly in the songs. Prabhu Deva’s brother Raju Sundaram also has contributed for the songs with his dance sequences. We know the place Anushka is securing firmly in the minds of the Telugu audience through her scintillating performance and so is Priyamani who is a National Award winner. This being the case, the director felt it necessary to rope in Charmi also to sizzle with Nagarjuna increasing the romance content in the film.
The leading ladies Anushka and Priyamani are in no way less to each other and this movie can provide a platform to witness the best of them as each would try to outplay the other with their stunning performance. Though 50 plus, Nagarjuna’s charm is not fading and he is still standing on top compared to his contemporaries and the present generation heroes. Even today, there are fans thronging the theaters when his movie is screened. It was in Nag’s film that Anushka made her first appearance and that combination gelled well leading to their doing fourth film together. So will there be a dearth for chemistry? Though for Priyamani, it is the first time with Nag, it’s not first time for her in the movies. So we can expect a good show of performance particularly in romance department.
One side the romance by two leading ladies, comedy filled performance of Nagarjuna and his maiden attempt in Rayalaseema accent can provide a good cocktail. Futher, it’s very important to say that producer Sivaprasad Reddy’s start of association dates back more than two decades ago and though they achieved success individually in many films they are yet to achieve one together. Can this movie break the jinks?
