Udupi Ruchi to foray into Telangana & Andhra Pradesh with the launch of its Easy-To-Cook products range

• To introduce around 100 varieties manufactured using country’s first cutting-edge Dry Blend Technology
• Plans to invest around Rs. 50 crore in expansion for first three years

Hyderabad, 28th December, 2016: Udupi Ruchi - flagship brand of Sri Family Group and specializing in authentic and nutritional food products, is a reputed name in the states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Gujarat. Now, the brand is planning to further strengthen its southern market foraying into Telangana and Andhra Pradesh with the launch of around 100 easy-to-cook product varieties, manufactured using India’s first-of-its-kind advanced Dry Blend Technology. The products will be made available to consumers through Retail, Institutional business and Restaurant formats.

Udupi Ruchi offers a wide range of Breakfast (Rava Idli, Multigrain Dosa, etc.,), Rice & Meal mixes, Spice mixes and Health Drink varieties. Gulab Jamun, Kesari Bhath, Semia Kheer, Badam Halwa, and Pasta Pista Kheer mixes, are on its delicacies list. The company through its other brands Temptas and Nutramine offers Soups, Pastas, Milkshakes, and Fruit Drinks mixes and Nutritional Food Supplements, respectively.

“Udupi Ruchi is to cater to the needs of a huge section of consumers not only through B2C model involving direct selling but also through B2B tying up with names such as Club Mahindra, Oberoi, Lavaza and Spar supermarket. With growing lifestyle changes, there is increased demand for easy- to-cook products in the FMCG segment. There is a significant gap in the demand and supply chain in the new market. We will capitalize on this and endeavor to cater to 30% to 40% of the market demand” said Mr. S.R. Rao Sahib, Director, Sri Family Group.

“Udupi Ruchi foods are processed and packed with cutting-edge Dry Blend Technology for preserving the goodness of ingredients and authentic taste. The shelf life of the packs is between 9 and 24 months. The products do not contain preservatives, artificial flavor or any colours, they are 100% natural and FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) certified. The quality, food safety and reasonable pricing have made our products a big hit in the processed food items segment. We hope we will enjoy the same kind of patronage in the new market also,” he added.

With expansion in a phased manner over 3 years, the company is targeting a turnover of Rs. 100 crores. The growth plan is to include making the products available in nearly 2000 retail outlets through franchise model, involving an investment of nearly Rs. 2 crores and networking of 20 distributors, and institutional business through 'HORECA’ concept. Under HORECA, Udupi Ruchi will directly supply its products in bulk to the kitchens of Hotels, Restaurants and Canteens. Also, the brand plans to open 50 Cafe Udupi Ruchi restaurants exclusively in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh at around Rs. 48 crores capital.

Sri Family Group is promoted by a Woman Entrepreneur Mrs. Lalitha Rao Sahib. In the year 1999, she started the flagship company Nuthatch Nutricare Technologies with a humble investment of Rs.55000. Now, it has 36000 sqft production plant in Bengaluru with ISO 22000 certification. From a one worker, micro unit in the beginning, the group today has grown to have employee strength of 120, out of which over 50% are women. Sri Family Group has three restaurants in its fold, one each in the cities of Bengaluru, Coimbatore and Ahmedabad.
